On December 5, 2011, Sheriff Laurie Smith of the Office of the Sheriff, Santa Clara County authorized the official formation of The Pipes and Drums of the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office.
Working in conjunction with the Santa Clara Sheriff’s Advisory Board and the Deputy Sheriff’s Association of Santa Clara County, the Pipes & Drums is comprised of volunteers from the local community and Public Safety agencies. The Band represents the SCCSO in various law enforcement events throughout Northern California year-round as well as community events. The band is under the leadership of Pipe Major Joshua Agee.

Membership is open to all that wish to participate. There are no dues or fees to join, just your enthusiasm and interest in becoming a member of our incredibly fun musical organization. No prior experience is required!
The band rehearses every Wednesday evening from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Richey Hall Justice Training Center located at 155 W. Hedding Street in San Jose. (Note: The band is on break during the month of August and takes a few weeks off during the holidays.)
Bagpipe instruction is under the direction of Pipe Major Joshua Agee;
Drum instruction is under the direction of Lead Drummer Brian Molver, former side drummer with the Prince Charles and SF Irish Pipe Bands, and two-time recipient of the Caledonian Club of San Francisco’s Winston Churchill Trophy in 2008-2009. See Complete Bio
